December Musings - Embers

Tonight marks a shift.

The air is crisp. Clear, save for a few clouds hauntingly illuminated.

The stars are visible, and Jupiter is rising up over the hill, whilst Venus is making its way up across the ocean.

A somewhat eerie calm has descended - not just in Seatown, but also along the coast in Lyme Regis .

The run down to Christmas has begun - Back Friday and Cyber Monday are out of the way, and it feels as if people are in need of reconnecting.

The recent dark moon may has done its job to encloak people into this fervor.

And yet - there has been something about today - something wonderful.

The pace has slowed.

The sauna has been stoked.

The temperature - hot - 70 degrees.

It has made a noticeable contrast to the sea, where it has started to bite, and takes your breath away.

The sunset had onlookers gasping and whooping - a spectacle that dragged me out of the sauna to watch as the sun made its daily descent beneath the sea line.

Tonight sauna goers come out steaming - aglow in the warm light of the ‘egg lights’.

Tonight there has been something primal - grounding - about the heat.

Tonight we are now fully in Winter.
